Several deadly wildfires continue to ravage the Los Angeles area on Friday as firefighters and first responders are working endlessly to help extinguish the brutal flames that devastate the region.
Those in New Jersey can see where exactly these fires are taking place, in case you have a loved one in the area or just want to observe, by using an interactive 3-D map from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection which shows the exact location of the fires and evacuation areas.

The map gives an overview shot of where each of the wildfires are located in the Los Angeles area. The large orange area is the perimeter of the existing flames. The purple area next to the orange locations are marked as the places that were given evacuation orders. The yellow highlighted part of the map represent the locations given evacuation warnings.
If someone you know is in the Los Angeles area, you can type in their exact address on the interactive map to see their proximity to the fire.

The exact location are described in the evacuation and evacuation warning areas including their proximity to different roads and the estimated population of those areas.
The speed of the winds gusting through the areas, which have helped spread the wildfires, are shown throughout the map. The tool also contains the amount of acres each wildfire has impacted.

There are camera options within the map to show the landscape of the area before flames engulfed the region.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Safety used the software ArcGIS Online to help create the interactive map of the California wildfires.
ArcGIS is described on their website as a “cloud-based mapping and analysis solution” that can be used to build maps, scenes, apps and notebooks. Environmental Systems Research Institute developed ArcGIS.
As of Friday evening, five wildfires remain active in the Los Angeles area. The Palisades Fire is the largest blaze, covering more than 36,000 acres or about 56 square miles. Ten people have died due the wildfires. Over 10,000 structures have been destroyed and over 150,000 residents needed to evacuate.
Those in North Jersey can donate to numerous fundraisers and organizations who wish to help those affected by the wildfires.
