A 44-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a marked Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) cruiser and led troopers on a chase in Ross County Tuesday morning, according to our media partners WBNS-10 TV.

Tommy Cantrell Jr. allegedly stole the cruiser while it was left running outside the Chillicothe Post before 2:15 a.m.

A spokesperson with OSHP said troopers used GPS technology to track the cruiser. They found it heading south of State Route 772.
WBNS-10 reports that troopers tried to pull the cruiser over, but the suspect continued driving and a chase began.
Cantrell reportedly continued driving south on SR-772 before turning around and heading north toward Chillicothe.
Chillicothe Police Department officers used stop sticks on Paint Street near Cooks Hill Road to stop the cruiser.
The pursuit lasted approximately 16 minutes, according to WBNS-10.
After stopping, a trooper got out of his cruiser with his firearm drawn and ordered Cantrell to get out.
Cantrell crawled out the driver’s side window and got on the ground, WBNS-10 reports.
No one was injured in this chase.
Cantrell Jr. is booked into the Ross County jail on three counts of theft without consent, one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and one count of possessing drug abuse instruments.
