A 53-year-old man has been charged in the October shooting death of 20-year-old Anthony Cuozzo.
Thomas Case was charged with second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
New York State Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Rawls Road in Pleasant Valley on Oct. 5, where Case and Cuozzo were involved in a dispute. Police said at the time Cuozzo stabbed a 53-year-old man in the chest and the man in turn shot Cuozzo multiple times.

Cuozzo was taken to Vassar Hospital where authorities said he died from his injuries.
“The tragic death of Anthony Cuozzo is heart-wrenching,” Dutchess County District Attorney Parisi said in a statement Monday. “While we mourn the loss of a young life, we were committed to ensuring that a full and impartial investigation was conducted. We will pursue justice with transparency and diligence, ensuring accountability,”
Case has been remanded without bail. His next court date is set for Jan. 29.
