A man who died after being shot in a home in Spanaway has been identified, according to a news elease from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Darryl Henderson, 47, of Tacoma, died from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. His death was ruled a homicide, according to the release.
The News Tribune reported based on charging documents that Henderson’s 22-year-old son, Vendell Edward Henderson, is suspected of shooting his father after they got into an argument Dec. 30 inside a residence in the 2200 block of 165th Street East.
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Darryl Henderson dead at 4:19 p.m. that day. Pierce County deputies located and took Vendell Edward Henderson into custody from a home at 42nd Avenue Court East after speaking with him on the phone, according to the charging details reviewed by The News Tribune.
Prosecutors charged him in Pierce County Superior Court with second-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf during his arraignment Dec. 31, The News Tribune reported.
