Man injured in semi crash on Interstate 90 near Dover

Dec. 19—DOVER TOWNSHIP, Minn. — While traveling on Interstate 90, a man was injured after his semi collided with the median near Dover on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024.

The 2023 International Tractor semi was traveling west on the Interstate when it lost control and collided with the median around 11:20 a.m. Thursday, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report. The roads were snowy/icy.

The driver, 26-year-old Xavier T Boelter of Urbana, Illinois, had non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys.

The National Weather Service reported “hazardous travel” conditions throughout the morning as snow continued Thursday. State Patrol reported 41 property damage crashes, six injury crashes, 17 vehicles off the road and seven jackknifed semis in the Rochester district, which represents the 11-county area, from 5 a.m. to noon Thursday.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Police Department, Eyota Fire Department and Dover Fire Department responded to the Interstate 90 crash.
