Emergency services were called to a Highfield Drive home in Craigburn Farm just after midnight on Tuesday following reports a man inside the home was harming himself with a knife.

A Taser was deployed; however, police allege this was unsuccessful and the man continued to threaten officers with the knife.

Officers then shot the man, who was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital where he died.

No police officers were injured in the incident.

Police are set to address the media and provide further details during a press conference on Tuesday morning.
