Man who robbed local FedEx driver during delivery avoids jail time

A man previously charged in connection to the robbery of a local FedEx delivery driver avoids jail time.

Miguel Bodre, 21, was sentenced to up to five years of probation and 100 hours of community service by Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Elizabeth Ellis, according to court records.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded on Oct. 31 to reports of a robbery in progress on Ashel Court in Washington Twp.

When they got to the scene, a FedEx driver said they had been “approached and forcibly robbed of a package,” the sheriff’s office said.

Bodre is from Queens, New York. He was identified as the man who allegedly pushed the driver and grabbed the package, which contained an Apple iPad Pro, according to Kettering Municipal Court documents.

He tried to get away from the scene in a getaway car driven by Luis Emilio Paula-Jimenez, 22, of Bronx, New York.

Court records indicate that Paula-Jiminez has been charged with one count each of complicity to commit robbery and complicity to commit theft. His next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27.
