Jeremi Sensky lives in Pennsylvania but also has ties to Central Florida. He is one of the dozens of people who were hurt during the attack early New Year’s Day on Bourbon Street.

His daughter, Heaven Sensky, told Channel 9 that has arrived at his Sanford home.

Sensky described the moment when she and her family found out her dad was alive.

“It was extremely traumatic,” Haven Sensky said.

She said her father, who’s been paraplegic since 1999, was struck by the driver during the driver during the attack and could not do anything to get out of the way.

The family heard about the incident but didn’t know if Jeremi was even alive until hours later.

The family trip through the South was supposed to end in Sanford, where the Senskys live and have spent their winters for years.

Haven says both of her dad’s legs were shattered in the incident. But because of his preexisting condition, he couldn’t feel anything.

The family has started a GoFundMe account to help raise money for his medical expenses.
