Mass. doctor indicted for rape after sexually assaulting patients at Framingham Hospital, DA says

A Massachusetts doctor was indicted on rape charges by a Middlesex County grand jury on Thursday.

Dr. Derrick Todd, who practiced at several locations, was indicted for two counts of rape. The allegations stem from two women who were his patients at Framingham Hospital.

Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said the assaults occurred in December 2022 and June 2023 during the course of medical examinations.

An arraignment date for Todd has not yet been scheduled.

Brigham and Women’s doctor terminated following investigation into anonymous complaints

Todd, most recently a rheumatologist at Brigham and Women’s Rheumatology Center at Faulkner Hospital, was terminated from the position in 2023 following an investigation into “anonymous complaints,” according to a healthcare official.

The Boston Globe reported at the time that Todd was facing a lawsuit for allegedly performing pelvic and breast exams that were not medically indicated.

On Sept. 5, 2023, Todd voluntarily agreed to stop practicing, according to the board.
