Meet the latest nominees for the Iowa City Press-Citizen’s Student of the Week

The Iowa City Press-Citizen Student of the Week has returned for another round of voting.

Each week, Johnson County high school principals and faculty are asked to nominate students who excel in and out of the classroom.

The public can vote at press-citizen.com until noon on Thursday, Dec. 12. The winner will be announced on Friday, Dec. 13, and an accompanying story will be published in the Press-Citizen.

Students from public and private high schools in Johnson County are eligible to participate.

The last student of the week was Elsie Gavin, an Iowa City Regina Catholic senior.

Here are this week’s nominees:

Recently, Barber was selected to receive the Iowa Bankers Association Student Achievement Award in Class 5A football, an honor that was announced during the 5A state football championship game at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
