A Fayetteville man is accused of holding a gun to a woman’s head and fighting two juveniles who were trying to protect her, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
James Hall Jr. is charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, and misdemeanor counts of making terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the Thursday incident.
Magisterial District Judge Kristin Nicklas denied bail, according to online court records.
After responding to a residence in Greene Township, at about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, police met with the woman and two juveniles in a vehicle nearby.
The woman gave the trooper a Taurus G2c 9mm handgun, which had 12 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, according to court documents.
The woman said she was on the porch while she and the children were preparing to leave the property, when Hall came out the front door and pressed the gun to her head, according to court documents.
One child tackled Hall to the ground in order to retrieve the gun. The children took the gun and secured it away from Hall, according to court documents.
As the woman and children prepared to leave, Hall “attempted to assault them multiple times by wrestling them to the ground,” according to court documents. One child reported Hall tackled them and continued fighting them on the ground, causing injury, and the other said Hall put them in a chokehold, police said.
