Montgomery Public Schools, Autauga County Schools and Elmore County Public Schools will have classes virtually Friday in anticipation of winter weather, the systems have announced.
All MPS after-school activities will be canceled, and MPS employees will receive virtual work instructions from their supervisors.
Autauga County students can submit their virtual assignments for Friday through Jan. 15 to allow families without computers or internet time to complete work, the system posted on social media.
Icy conditions are expected across much of Alabama on Friday.
Autauga students will also bring home prepackaged meals from school. School officials warned parents that some items may need to be refrigerated. They anticipate a normal start to school next week.
Elmore County schools are sending home breakfast and lunch meal kits to students and have also canceled after-school activities.
