A Bali Nine member has been arrested in Sydney just weeks after he returned to Australia following 19 years behind bars in Indonesia.
Matthew Norman, 38, has been charged over his alleged role in a car theft dating back to 2005, before his involvement in a failed drug smuggling operation to Indonesia.
On Monday morning, Mr Norman handed presented to Waverley Police Station, where he was arrested over allegedly being the passenger in a stolen car.
Mr Norman was wanted for an outstanding traffic-related warrant, NSW Police said.
He was initially refused bail and put behind bars on Monday, however, just hours later appeared in Waverley Local Court, where Magistrate Stephen Barlow granted him bail.
He will next appear in court on February 25.

The eight men and one woman, who formed the Bali Nine, were arrested in 2005 for attempting to smuggle 8.7kg heroin into Australia.
Mr Norman was just 18 years old at the time when he attempted to smuggle 334g out of the county.
During his almost two decades inside Kerobokan Prison in Bali, he narrowly avoided the death penalty.
The remaining five Bali Nine members returned home to Australia for the first time since their transfer to the Indonesian prison last December.
It’s understood Mr Norman, the youngest member, moved into a waterfront mansion in Torquay in Victoria’s southwest.
The two-storey four-bedroom home is valued at more than $4m and is located above the popular Cosy Corner beach in Torquay, about 27km south of Geelong.
