A Dollar General store is expected to open in South Haven this spring.
The convenience store is currently under construction, according to the company’s public relations team, and an “early spring 2025” opening date is expected. Dollar General said construction progress may alter the opening timeline.
South Havens’ incoming store is expected to employ six to 10 people, according to a company spokesperson. Available positions will be posted at www.dollargeneral.com/careers.

Dollar General sells a variety of items, ranging from food to shampoos to housewares and clothing. Some brands sold at the store include Clorox, Kellogg’s, General Mills, Hanes, Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Procter and Gamble.
“The new store plans to also feature (a) fresh produce assortment, which offers the top 20 items typically sold in traditional grocery stores,” Dollar General wrote in an email. “The set includes a curated assortment of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, bananas, strawberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes, salad mixes and more.”

There are roughly 20,000 Dollar General stores in the United States. In an email to the St. Cloud Times, the company’s public relations team said it aims to bring affordable options to customers who may not have nearby retail options.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, South Haven, which is in Wright County, has a population of a little more than 180 people.
