One dead, another injured in Rochester shooting

Rochester police are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning that left one man dead and another injured.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire on Emerson Street at approximately 5:25 a.m. Upon arrival, they were directed to a home on Emerson, where they found a man in his 20s dead from a gunshot wound to the torso, police said.

A second man, who sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body, was taken to URMC with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

Police said eight other people, ranging in age from 7 months to 18 years, were inside the house at the time of the shooting.
