GOSHEN – A New Hampton man will serve 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to having sexual contact with a child, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said the defendant, Justin Babb, 41, of New Hampton, was sentenced on Dec. 4 to 18 years in state prison and 10 years of post-release supervision.
Hoovler said Babb pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, on May 23.
At the plea proceedings, Babb admitted that in August 2023 he engaged in anal sexual contact with a child who was less than 11 years old.
Babb also will be registered as a sex offender.

“Children are the most innocent of victims, and this defendant’s unspeakable actions demanded a lengthy prison sentence,” Hoovler said in a statement released by his office.
The name of Babb’s attorney was not immediately available.
