WEST BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP — A Sheppton woman and a West Pittston man were charged in an overnight burglary at a West Brunswick Twp. storage facility on Christmas 2023.
State police at Schuylkill Haven charged Noelle Stitzer, 37, and David Carpin, 35, after the two allegedly stole $3,000 worth of items from a storage unit at Pinedale Self Storage, 1438 Centre Turnpike.
According to police, a woman who rented the unit arrived there a few days after the alleged incident and found it was broken into and missing multiple items. The woman said she used the facility for personal items, including hunting and camping equipment, according to police. She estimated the price of the missing items at $3,000 and said she did not know who could be responsible.
The owner of the storage facility, Kevin Doyle, told police that he obtained video footage of the burglars after he was told about the incident. The footage showed two unknown actors, a male and a female, operating a Subaru Forester and transferring multiple items from the storage unit into their vehicle, police said.
Police later identified Stitzer, who told them she had been at the storage facility on Christmas Day in 2023, and claimed she and Carpin had been given a key for the storage unit. Police, however, told Stitzer that the lock had been cut on scene, to which she replied, “I was probably so high at the time, I do not remember much.”
Stitzer said she did not remember what she and Carpin did with the stolen property and was unaware of the male defendant’s whereabouts, police said.
Stitzer and Carpin each face felony charges of burglary and criminal trespass, along with a misdemeanor count of theft.
Court documents indicate the two have not been taken into custody.
