PATCO train hits man at Haddonfield station

HADDONFIELD — A commuter train struck a man on the eastbound tracks of the PATCO Hi-Speedline station here on Wednesday morning.

The man, whose name was not released, entered the track area as the train was approaching at approximately 11:10 a.m., said PATCO spokesman Mike Williams.

He was taken to an area hospital.

“The condition of the individual is currently unknown,” said Williams.

The accident delayed PATCO service for up to 15 minutes in both directions while first responders worked at the station.

“Trains were back to on or close to schedule shortly after 12 p.m.,” Williams said

An investigation is ongoing and no further information is available, he said.
