SOUTH BEND — One person was hospitalized Thursday night after a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team responded to the area of Indiana 23 and Douglas Road around 7 p.m. Dec. 19 regarding a crash with a vehicle and a pedestrian, the South Bend Police Department said in a press release Thursday. The crash remains under investigation.
Police did not confirm if the victim was the pedestrian or motorist, nor did they provide a condition of the victim.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office told The Tribune on Friday that more information will be released.
Indiana 23 was closed northbound to Douglas Road, and southbound traffic was restricted to one lane. Both streets have been reopened, police said Thursday evening.
