Phone found at private area at The Phoenician leads to voyeurism charges against employee

An employee at The Phoenician resort in Scottsdale was jailed after being accused of trying to secretly record someone in a private area.

Dominnic Enrico Alejandro, 30, was charged on suspicion of voyeurism, invading the privacy of another person without their knowledge for the purpose of sexual stimulation, a felony 5 offense, according to court documents.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, officers responded to the resort in the area of 60th Street and Camelback Road about a woman who found a cell phone in the private cabana area of the resort, Phoenix police said. Alejandro, an employee at the hotel, was escorted off the property prior to officers arriving, according to police.

Detectives spoke with the woman and identified Alejandro as the suspect, arresting him on Jan. 8, police said. The cell phone used by Alejandro was taken as evidence, police added.

No other victims have been identified pending a search warrant and additional evidence collection, police mentioned. If more are found, appropriate charges will be added to the case, police confirmed.

Alejandro has a preliminary hearing set for Friday, according to court records.

A spokesperson with The Phoenician did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
