Police find woman’s body near Downtown; calls death ‘suspicious’

Dec. 9—The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the death of an unidentified woman.

At about 8:30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the 1200 block of Coal SW in reference to a welfare check of a neighbor who hadn’t been seen in a couple of days, APD spokesperson Franchesca Perdue said. When officers arrived, they found a woman’s body, she said.

“Due to evidence on (the) scene, this is being investigated as a suspicious death,” Perdue said.

The investigation is ongoing and “additional details will be provided when they become available,” she said.
