Dec. 23—An unidentified person was found fatally shot in a vehicle following a crash in Northeast Albuquerque Monday morning.
At about 5:30 a.m., the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a call of a crash in the area of the 7100 block of Menaul, near Louisiana.
When officers arrived, they found a driver sitting with a gunshot wound. Officers and other first responders unsuccessfully attempted life-saving measures, APD spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said.
“Detectives are now investigating the death of the driver as a homicide,” he said.
As of 9:15 a.m., all eastbound lanes on Menual are blocked between Chama and Pennsylvania, Gallegos said.
