A man was shot in Norwich on Sunday night during what police believe was a targeted attack.
Dispatchers received numerous 911 calls at 10:20 p.m. reporting shots being fired in the area of Sandy Lane Norwich where officers responded and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Sgt. Ken Wright of the Norwich Police Department. Police also found a vehicle with damage that appeared to be caused by gunfire.
The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, Wright said.
The Norwich Police Department Detective Division responded and processed the scene for evidence.
Wright said investigators believe the shooting was targeted.
“There is no known threat to the public,” he said in a statement.
