A 31-year-old New Philadelphia man faces assault charges after he struck a 37-year-old borough man, according to state police at Frackville.
Police charged Joshua Minrod after an incident Dec. 5 in which he reportedly shoved the man to the ground and hit him approximately two times, injuring him.
Minrod faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment. Charges were filed through the office of District Judge Edward J. Tarantelli in Frackville.
Woman charged in trespassing incident
A 48-year-old Ashland woman was arrested after she trespassed onto a property in Girardville, state police at Frackville said.
Police charged Juanita McCabe with a third-degree felony of criminal trespass after they were called to an incident in which she unlawfully entered 102 S. William St. on Dec. 1.
McCabe was jailed in Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $5,000 bail.
Woman injured in 1-car crash
A Hazleton woman sustained injuries in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 81, state police at Frackville said.
Police said Jassiell M. Smith, 26, was driving a Honda Civic south on Friday along mile marker 113.7, Foster Township, when she veered off the left shoulder and lost control of her vehicle.
Smith told police that she was doing her makeup and had her car in self-driving mode.
Smith’s car traveled onto the median and hit a tree, sustaining extensive damage.
Police said Smith was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for non-life threatening injuries, and her car was towed from the scene.
