POLICE NEWS: Hit-and-run reported in Goshen

Jan. 3—A 92-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 2:03 p.m. Thursday that someone hit her vehicle in the 200 block of Johnston Street.

ARRESTS

—A 31-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 7:29 p.m. Thursday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and intimidation following a traffic stop in the 700 block of East Madison Street.

—A 38-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 9 a.m. Thursday on a charge of operating a vehicle on a controlled substance after he was reported as a possible impaired driver.

—A 51-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 10:40 a.m. Thursday on a charge of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator near the intersection of Ind. 15 and U.S. 6 in New Paris.

RESIDENTIAL ENTRY

A 25-year-old man and 24-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 3:08 p.m. Thursday that someone opened their front door while they were not home in the 300 block of Indiana Avenue.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

—A 43-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 a.m. Thursday his home in the 54000 block of Heritage Road in Elkhart was egged.

—A 58-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that between 5:30 and 11:30 p.m. Dec. 30 someone slashed a tent in the 25000 block of Dunny Street in Elkhart.

FRAUD

A 62-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies that between Oct. 17 and Oct. 21 fraud was committed.

SEX CRIME

Goshen police took a report of a possible rape at 10:51 p.m. Thursday.
