Investigators believe Hernandez was in the process of buying drugs when he was robbed inside of a vehicle. Initial information indicates Hernandez was shot as he was trying to run away from the vehicle.
He was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious injuries, but was pronounced dead later Saturday evening.
No arrests have been made by Sunday evening and police hadn’t released a suspect description as the investigation was ongoing.
