Reading church schedules session of board, card games [Religion Digest]

• First Unitarian Universalist Church, 416 Franklin St., Reading, will offer board and card games on Sunday from 12:30-5 p.m. There will be multiple tables set up with a different game at each table. Bring your own favorite game and a snack to share. Worship is at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship. Then let the games begin.

• The Ataraxia Duo — Matthew Coley, cimbalom/marimba, and Jennifer Ruggieri, harp — will present a free concert on Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. John’s (Hain’s) United Church of Christ, 591 N. Church Road, Lower Heidelberg Township.

• Mike and Linda Hertzog will present a Pennsylvania German New Year’s wish to ring in the new year during the 10: 15 a.m. worship service on Sunday at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ of Molltown, 219 Maidencreek Road, Richmond Township. They will also provide music on the mandolin, bass, guitar and banjo.

• Zion Lutheran Church at 300 W. High St., Womelsdorf, will welcome guest vocalist Kathy McConnell to perform special music during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will offer a free, drive-through, take-out meal today from 4:30-5:30 p.m. No registration required.

• The United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 301 W. Penn Ave., has scheduled the following events: today, the Men’s Fellowship Group meets at 8:30 a.m. at the Heidelberg Restaurant, 910 W. • Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will hold Coffee and Conversation on Sunday at 8:30 and 10 a.m. in the Welcome Center.

• Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Centre Ave., Reading, welcomes flutist Aurora Kishbaugh to its 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday. The monthly S4 gathering will follow the service.

• St. John’s Gernant’s Church (A Federated Congregation), 13 Gernant’s Church Road, Ontelanuee Township, will worship Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Memorial Hall. During the service, new board members will be installed. Fellowship will follow the service.

• Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Washington Township, will have a flea market and 50 cent today from 8-11 a.m. Worship will take place on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with a celebration of everyone’s birthday with handout gifts. • The Rev. Robert Kramer will lead the 9:30 a.m. worship service at Salem Lutheran Church, 8410 Lancaster Ave., Bethel Township. A social hour follows the worship service in the church’s multi-purpose room.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will begin Alpha Youth, a 10-week course for middle and high schoolers, Questions about Christianity, on Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m.

In order to have an event listed in the religion digest, it must be something that is not just a regular worship service.
