Rochester man charged after high-speed I-95 pursuit and crash in Seabrook

SEABROOK — A Rochester man is facing charges following a high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash with his passenger seriously injured Sunday.

New Hampshire State Police were alerted at 10:36 p.m. by Massachusetts authorities about a 2020 Hyundai Accent speeding at over 100 mph on Interstate 95 north. Troopers pursued the vehicle off Exit 1 in Seabrook, where it navigated several secondary roads before colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 107.

Jordan Metherall, 31, of Rochester, faces numerous felony charges including reckless conduct.

The driver, Jordan Metherall, 31, of Rochester, attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by state troopers and Seabrook police officers, according to police. A female passenger in the Hyundai sustained serious injuries, while the driver of the second vehicle, a 2012 Buick LaCrosse, was uninjured.

Metherall faces numerous felony charges including reckless conduct, disobeying an officer and conduct after an accident. He is being held in preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Hampton District Court.

Route 107 was closed for approximately 90 minutes during the investigation and vehicle removal. The Seabrook police and fire departments assisted state police. Pat’s Towing and New England Truck Center removed the vehicles.
