A Roxbury man is facing a slew of firearm and drug-related charges.
44-year-old Phillip Anderson of Roxbury was arrested on Friday, January 10 following an investigation near 206 Warren Street, Roxbury.
Around 10:37 p.m. Boston police officers observed a vehicle left running on a public way. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found Anderson asleep in the driver’s seat.
During the investigation, officers located a firearm inside the vehicle’s armrest. The weapon was later identified as a Smith & Wesson .40 Tactical firearm, loaded with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.
Anderson was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on the following charges:

Carrying a Firearm Without a License (Fourth Offense)

Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License

Unlawful Possession of Ammunition

Firearm Violation with Two Prior Violent and/or Drug Offenses
Anderson also received citations for operating a vehicle with an idle engine for over five minutes and for excessive window tint.
