Sea Girt police investigate car and home break-ins

SEA GIRT − Police are urging residents to be vigilant after two motor vehicle break-ins and residential burglaries that happened overnight Dec. 21 to 22.

The incidents happened on Washington Boulevard and Crescent Parkway, police said. They are being investigated by the police Detective Bureau, along with the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Wall Township police.

Police are asking residents to review camera footage from 10 p.m. Dec. 21 to 5 a.m. Dec. 22 across town. If you find any suspicious footage, please share it with the police department by emailing zsherman@seagirtpd.com.

Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles, and do not leave key fobs inside. Avoid leaving valuables visible inside your vehicle. Park your vehicle in the garage, if possible.

Before leaving your home or going to bed, make sure all doors and windows are locked. Set your alarm system nightly if you have one.
