Seminole Heights shop Jug & Bottle and vegan kitchen closing

The popular Seminole Heights beer shop Jug & Bottle, also home to the 3 Dot Dash Vegan Kitchen, announced it is closing soon.

“Many of our food and beverage peers, plant-based or not, have vocalized a downturn in these last couple years; and we are no exception,” the owners announced in an Instagram post. “Combine that with the end of Jug’s time here … and the economic demands of our own lives and all signs point to us winding things down as well.”

Jug & Bottle announced that its lease was coming to an end soon and it will be closing its shop on Florida Avenue.

Earlier this year, Wine Enthusiast assembled its top beer shops list by reaching out to beer experts across the nation, and Jug & Bottle was one of them. According to the editors, the shops that stand out are the ones that pay attention to having a diverse selection, offer proper cooler space and keep an eye on freshness dates.

The store carried a curated offering of craft beers, natural wines and specialty products at the shop and frequently hosted tasting nights inside their space.

The kitchen, which has been in operation for six years, said it will continue to serve while supplies last.

“It was all of you lining up around the block for a fake chicken sandwich that pushed us into Jug, running a line to the door every night once we opened up,” the owners said in a thank you note to customers. “After choosing a plant-based diet in our own lives we started making and sharing the kind of food we wanted to eat. We soon learned that a lot of you shared in our enthusiasm and things took off pretty quickly after that.”

The owners said they will “keep the menu as long as we can, but will of course be running out of everything by the end.”
