The Brimfield Township Sheetz will celebrate a grand opening Thursday on Sanctuary View Drive, off of state Route 43.
An event will start at 9 a.m. outside the store, with multiple prizes awarded to those attending, the company said in a news release. The grand prize to be awarded is “free Sheetz for a year.” The prize will come in the form of a $2,500 gift card. No purchase is necessary to win, but prospective winners must be present and age 18 or older to enter.
The store, which will cut an official ribbon during a ceremony at 10:45 a.m., will offer customers free self-serve coffee and soda all day on Thursday.
In honor of the grand opening, Sheetz will donate $2,500 to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, which assists those living in its eight-county area — Portage, Summit, Stark, Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
Customers who attend the grand opening are encouraged to donate a nonperishable food item to the nonprofit. Those who donate from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. will receive a Sheetz-branded thermal bag, with a limit of one per customer, while supplies last.
Sheetz also will make a $2,500 donation to the Special Olympics of Ohio.
Sheetz said in its news release that it will employ about 30 people. The company, with 750 stores, is headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
