Snow flurries possible Monday in Tuscaloosa, West Alabama

West Alabama residents can expect the possibility of snow flurries Monday, weather forecasters say.

Richard Scott, meteorologist for WVUA-TV in Tuscaloosa, said in a social media post Friday that West Alabama can expect temperatures in the 30s Monday with a chance of flurries.

“Based on data, there is a good chance we will see flurries flying at times Monday,” Scott said.

The flurries are expected to last from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. especially near and north of the Interstate 20 corridor.

Scott said motorists should not expect any traffic issues due to the winter weather.

“No travel impact, just some flakes at times,” he said. No snow accumulation is expected.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham says Monday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with high temperatures in the upper 30s and lows in the mid-20s in Tuscaloosa.

The frigid temperatures are expected to continue under sunny or mostly sunny skies throughout the week, but no snow is in the forecast.
