As snow continues to blanket the South Jersey area, schools, businesses and even local government offices have taken precautions.
Forecasts have varied over the last couple days leading up to this storm. Each county of South Jersey could see different snowfall totals.
Here’s what to know so far.

Current weather conditions
Snow totals from South Jersey are coming in to the National Weather Service. If you’re looking for how to report your snowfall totals, see the graphic below.
Snow is continuing to fall and is expected to fall throughout the day. Roads are blanketed with snow, and some townships throughout South Jersey may not begin to plow the roads until the snow accumulation hits a certain marker.
Snowfall forecast in South Jersey
Each county in South Jersey may receive different amounts of snow.
Here’s a listing of what you could expect to possibly see, according to the National Weather Service:

Atlantic County, 3-7 inches.

Burlington County, 2-4 inches.

Camden County, 2-4 inches.

Cape May County, 4-8 inches.

Cumberland County, 4-8 inches.
Snowfall totals in South Jersey
Here are some snowfall totals being reported to the National Weather Service and the Courier-Post:
Atlantic County, half-inch of snow reported at 7 a.m.
Burlington County, half-inch of snow reported at 10 a.m.
Cape May County, 3-4 inches of snow reported at 8:30 a.m.
Camden County, nearly an inch of snow reported at 9:42 a.m.
State of emergency: New Jersey governor
Schools, governments and other entities kept their doors closed in anticipation of this snowstorm.
Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Pennsauken was one of many South Jersey schools to close for a snow day Jan. 6.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency. Cumberland County, Burlington County, Atlantic County and Cape May County leaders all announced different closures of their government offices and other public entities for the safety of residents.
A Veterans Affairs center in Vineland closed for the day, but hospitals throughout the area are to remain open for those having an emergency.
As of right now, schools closed today are expected to be open tomorrow, with a potential of a delayed opening.
