Police have released new details about a crash that left one dead in Dayton.

News Center 7 previously reported that Dayton police and medics were called to the 1300 block of Harshman Road for a crash just before 7 p.m.

An investigation found that a Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Harshman Road when it changed lanes and then overcorrected causing it to go left of center, according to Dayton police.

When the Ford Ranger went left of center it hit a Nissan Rogue which then spun out and hit a GMC Sierra.

The driver of the Ford Ranger was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the Nissan Rouge was taken to an area hospital where they were treated and released, police said.

The two people in the GMC Sierra were treated on the scene.

Police said at this time “speed may be a factor in this crash.”

The identity of the driver who died in the crash has not been released.
