BRANCH COUNTY — Tributes to retiring Branch County Administrator Bud Norman began Friday afternoon.
State Sen. Jonathan Lindsey and Rep. Andrew Fink gathered with public officials, friends, and family in the courthouse to present Norman with a legislative proclamation for his 17 and a half years of service to the county and the public.

Lindsey said in the two years he served in the Senate, “Bud has been a great partner. You really couldn’t ask for more, from my perspective.”
The senator said Norman ensured he stayed on top of what was going on to affect Branch County, even sending him to attend a meeting in Ohio on area aquifers. “It’s important because it impacts Branch County, so he’s on top of it.”
Fink agreed, “It’s invaluable, because we’ll never know as much about those things as the people on the ground do, your commissioners or your sheriff or your county administrator.”
A veteran himself, Fink added that this is Norman’s second retirement. He came to Branch County at the end of his military career, retired as a colonel, and moved to the county where his wife was from.
