After a week of closings because of snow and ice, students are headed back to school Monday, Jan. 13, albeit a little late.
Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro public schools all announced that they will operate on a two-hour delay Monday.
“Let’s take it slow, stay safe, and get ready to return with energy and excitement,” Waynesboro Public Schools posted on its Facebook page. “See you soon, Waynesboro!”
AccWeather is calling for a high of 43 degrees on Monday, although the temperatures won’t get above freezing until around 10 a.m. according to the forecasting service. Monday may be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures not getting above freezing Tuesday or Wednesday and then highs near 37 Thursday and 40 Friday.
There is a possibility of a snow shower in the forecast for Tuesday afternoon and maybe some rain and drizzle Saturday morning. Otherwise, no precipitation is expected this week.
