Student involved in shooting allegedly hides gun inside Carroll Co. high school bathroom

A metro Atlanta student is accused of hiding a weapon from a shooting in a high school.

On Wednesday, at 7:30 a.m. Cartersville police responded to a shots fired call at the Ivy Glen Apartments on Ridge Row Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a late model BMW with damage from multiple gunshots and shell casings near the car.

Their investigation identified a Cartersville High School student as the suspect. The student went to school after the shooting.

Cartersville investigators said the student hid two guns and ammunition in a bathroom at Cartersville High School.

The student, whose age and identity were not released was arrested.

He was charged as a juvenile with multiple counts of entering auto, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless conduct, and carrying a weapon in a school safety zone.

He was released to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
