Chretien, who lists an address in Missouri City, was indicted by a Wichita County grand jury in July 2024 on charges of trafficking a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to court records.

Police found the girl safe in the car and arrested Chretien.

The Navasota Examiner reported he was initially taken to the Grimes County Jail and charged with evading in a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, Harboring a Runaway Child in addition to the aggravated sexual assault charges.
