A man wanted in a fatal shooting on Tuesday in Augusta has turned himself in to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Trayvone David Cummings, 20, turned himself in on Friday at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. Another suspect, Damien Key, 19, remains at large. Key is 5-foot-9 and 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. The sheriff’s office previously noted he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Those with information about Key should contact Inv. Courtland Harris, or any Violent Crimes investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, at (706) 821-1445 or (706) 821-1020.
Both had multiple outstanding warrants through the sheriff’s office to include murder and possession of firearm during the commission of crime, noted BOLOs issued earlier this week by the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded to a shooting on the 1900 block of Walker Street at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said the victim, Cattory McBride, 29, of Augusta was pronounced dead at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
