SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Two suspects have been arrested and another on the run after police spiked a vehicle involved in an aggravated assault.
According to the Unified Police Department (UPD), police located a stolen vehicle that was reported to have been used in an aggravated assault. When police attempted to stop the vehicle around 8:45 p.m., it fled.
The vehicle was known by police, as a call had been made to look for the vehicle the day prior. At some point after the vehicle fled, it was spiked by police near the area of 300 West and North Temple. Three suspects jumped out of the vehicle, and a foot chase began with law enforcement around 8:46 p.m..
Several agencies were involved in the pursuit of the suspect. DPS deployed a helicopter, units from Salt Lake City Police Department and the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Department were also involved. Around 8:48 p.m., 2 of the three suspects were taken into custody, with one still outstanding.
Police are currently asking that the public stay clear of the area as law enforcement searches for the third suspect. According to UPD, no injuries were reported, and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
