LOWER MANHATTAN (PIX11) — An 83-year-old man was attacked while riding a southbound 5 train in Manhattan Friday morning, according to the NYPD.
The incident happened around 6:10 a.m.
Police say the train was approaching the Fulton Street subway station when an unknown man started a verbal dispute with the victim.
The victim was punched multiple times in the face and sustained cuts to the face and head, officials say. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police released the following surveillance photos of the suspect.
