Suspect turns himself in after Aiken man’s September shooting death

A 22-year-old man has turned himself in to authorities in th September shooting death of an Aiken man.

Sabastyen Miles Greene presented himself to law enforcement for arrest shortly after 2 p.m., the Aiken Department of Public Safety said in a release Friday.

Greene was wanted for and has been charged with murder and with possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, in the Sept. 18 death of William Lee Mathis Jr., 42, of Aiken.

ADPS officers found Mathis alive with at least one gunshot wound after they responded to a health-and-safety check at the corner of Columbia Avenue and Chesterfield Street in Aiken.
