According to airport officials, passengers traveling to John Glenn International will run into a couple of changes starting on Monday.

First, there will be a traffic pattern adjustment on International Gateway:

  • Traffic heading east on International Gateway will drop down to two lanes, shifting north before widening again near the terminal.

  • The speed limit will be reduced in the area to ensure safety during this transition.

Secondly, there will be the following changes to the Cell Phone Lot:

  • The lot will temporarily move behind the John Glenn International sign on International Gateway, near the Rental Car Center.

  • Vehicles can enter the lot from both the east and west directions on International Gateway but will exit heading east only.

  • Drivers can wait in the Green Lot across Stelzer Road. Airport officials said the lot now offers a one-hour grace period, allowing people to exit free of charge within an hour of entry.

The charges are due to the construction project to create a new terminal at the airport. As our news partners at WBNS in Columbus reported, the project is estimated to cost $2 billion.

The new terminal, which will add seven gates, is expected to be completed in 2029.
