President-elect Donald Trump will assume the highest office in the United States when he’s sworn in Monday.
His win completes one of the most remarkable comebacks in political history after he was impeached twice, survived two assassination attempts and was found guilty of 34 felony counts in his New York criminal hush money trial. The 78-year-old businessman makes history as the oldest president-elect and will be the first incoming president to be convicted as a felon as he prepares to enter his second presidency.
Around the globe, there are those celebrating and those mourning the return of a president considered by some as turbulent and unpredictable and others as a firm, dynamic leader.
We wanted to gauge local sentiment, so we posted a survey asking for thoughts about a second Trump presidency.
We received over 150 reader responses demonstrating a kaleidoscope of emotions – disgust, relief, anger, joy, hope, frustration, the list goes on. We heard from mothers, fathers, grandparents, students and young professionals spanning neighborhoods in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
After combing through the responses, we selected 22 representing a range of political backgrounds.
