One person was arrested after a pursuit with Lubbock County law enforcement ended in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday evening.
Members of the Texas Anti-Gang Unit were searching for 34-year-old Shane Lester regarding a parole violation, according to a statement from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office. He was also a suspect in a burglary of numerous firearms out of Knox County.
Investigators located Lester about 10:13 p.m. in the 6400 block of Albany Avenue in Lubbock and attempted to pull him over. Instead, according to the statement, Lester led investigators on a pursuit that ended in the 3400 block of Quaker Avenue in a multi-vehicle accident causing a driver of a vehicle to be taken by Emergency Medical Services to University Medical Center for treatment of injuries as a result of the accident.
Lester was taken into custody and taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where he faces charges including evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle as well as the parole violation warrant. He was also found to be in possession of numerous firearms believed to be those that were taken in the burglary in Knox County. This investigation is on going at this time.
