Texas DPS searches for 3 people who fled after crash following chase in Lubbock

The Texas Department of Public Safety and area law enforcement are searching for three people accused of fleeing the scene of a crash following a chase Tuesday afternoon in central Lubbock.

According to a DPS news release, troopers initiated a traffic stop around 3:16 p.m. Tuesday for a traffic violation of disregarding a stop sign.

The vehicle then started a pursuit with troopers near University Avenue and 1st Street and crashed near 45th Street and Avenue P.

According to DPS, this is when two males and a female fled the vehicle on foot and were not located; however, narcotics were found in the car.

Officials by late Tuesday didn’t have an updated description of the suspects or the vehicle they were in.

No arrests have been made at this time.
