Three men were arrested on Wednesday after they allegedly assaulted a 66-year-old man at a business in Willington where he reportedly asked them to quiet down multiple times.
Troopers responded to a business on Adamec Road just after 7 p.m. on the report of a large fight and were told that about 15 to 20 people were working to break up a fight between a few individuals, according to Connecticut State Police.
The first troopers on scene found a 66-year-old man suffering from a head laceration. He was taken in an ambulance to an area hospital for treatment, state police said.
Witnesses told troopers the man was assaulted after repeatedly asking a group of individuals who were acting loud and disruptive to quiet down, state police said.
Two of the individuals got up and allegedly assaulted the man, according to state police. A third person with them then allegedly threw a glass at the man’s head, causing the laceration.
State police said they used video surveillance footage to identify the suspects as 29-year-old Baylor Lapointe of Wethersfield, 26-year-old Joseph Reilly of Tolland and 26-year-old John Browdy of Manchester.
According to state police, troopers believe Lapointe and Reilly first assaulted the victim before Browdy threw a glass at him. Browdy was charged with second-degree assault on an elderly victim and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on a $20,000 bond.
Lapointe and Reilly were both charged with third-degree assault on an elderly victim and second-degree breach of peace. They were each released on $5,000 bonds.
All three suspects are expected to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Jan. 22.
