Traveling for spring break? Here’s a look at some new nonstop flights from Milwaukee in 2025

Amid colder weather, Wisconsin travelers might be already making plans to book a vacation to a warmer destination for spring break.

According to travel site Hopper, 76% of Americans are planning to spend the same or more on travel this year compared to last year. Increased demand remains as younger generations continue to invest in travel over other material items.

For those looking to purchase tickets, here’s a look at when you should purchase spring break airfare for the cheapest price, plus a look at new nonstop flights from Milwaukee.

When is spring break 2025?

The spring break period is roughly defined as most of March and the first week or two of April. Spring break for Milwaukee Public Schools is March 24-28, 2025, according to the district calendar.

When should I book 2025 spring break flight tickets?

Airlines generally post the best deals on Tuesday, but sales can appear at any time. You can find the links for the latest airfare deals from Milwaukee here.

Average prices for U.S. flights are usually cheapest around 38 days before departure, with historically low prices ranging between 21 to 52 days before takeoff, according to Google Flights.

Ticket prices are usually lower in January, but airfare in 2025 is more than 10% higher than in January of last year. Prices are estimated to remain above 2023 and 2024 levels for at least the next six months, , according to Hopper.

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines will offer nonstop flights to Austin, Texas, starting Thursday, March 6, 2025. Flights will operate on full-sized Boeing 737-700 aircraft five days per week, Monday through Friday.

The airline will also offer flights to Cancun, Mexico, during March. To book, you can visit the Southwest website or mobile app.

American Airlines

American Airlines’ nonstop flights to Miami increased from Saturday-only to daily on Dec 20, 2024.

Sun Country Airlines

Sun Country Airlines is offering new nonstop flights from Milwaukee to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, through April 7. Roundtrip flights will initially operate twice a week and will increase to four times per week starting Jan. 23, 2025.

Sun Country will also offer nonstop service between Milwaukee and Montego Bay, Jamaica, starting Jan. 25. The service will operate twice per week through early April.

The airline is also expanding seasonal nonstop flights to Cancun, Mexico, with daily service through the spring break period. To book flights, you can visit SunCountry.com or the Sun Country Airlines mobile app.

Alaska Airlines

Starting in January, Alaska Airlines will offer seasonal nonstop service to Puerto Vallarta via Apple Vacations/FunJet Vacations. These flights must be booked through Apple Vacations or FunJet Vacations, and will not appear on the Alaska Airlines website.

Frontier Airlines

Frontier Airlines will add nonstop flights to Tampa International Airport form Milwaukee in 2025. Flights are set to start on Friday, March 7, and will run three times a week. You can find more information on the Frontier Airlines website.

Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines will increase its service to Fort Lauderdale to daily flights during the spring break season. The airline also will offer nonstop flights to Las Vegas starting in January, and to Orlando starting in March.
