TUPELO – Tupelo police have charged two suspects in connection with separate burglaries.
On Dec. 30, 2024, police responded to Reed’s Manufacturing on South Eason Boulevard for a reported burglary. Responding officers were told a suspect had forced his way into the business and stolen multiple items while inside.
Security cameras at the business captured the suspect on video, which was turned over to police.
The investigation led to the Jan. 7 arrest of Quantavious R. Nichols, 31, of McAllister Road, Aberdeen. Nichols has been charged with burglary of a commercial building, felony fleeing and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
During Nichols’ initial court appearance, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen set bond at $35,000.
On Tuesday, Jan. 7, police were dispatched to the area of Fair Oaks Drive to take a report on the burglary of a vehicle. The property owner said a purse was stolen from the vehicle and that a credit card from the purse had been used to transfer money to a PayPal account.
Following a brief investigation, police arrested Myles Devaine Thompson, 20, of Treeline Drive, Belden. He was charged with burglary of a vehicle and credit card fraud, both felonies.
Allen set Thompson’s bond at $10,000.
